Kindle Unlimited Frequently Asked Questions

What is Kindle Unlimited?

Kindle Unlimited (or KU) is a monthly subscription service offered by Amazon that lets you read as much as you want for only $9.99 USD per month + applicable taxes. You do not own the books, you borrow them but you are able to re-borrow them any time you want to. In addition, you can also read up to three magazine subscriptions per month. You can sign up for a free trial here.

Do I have to read on a Kindle device?
No. You can download the Kindle reading app for FREE to any computer, cellphone, tablet or e-reader. More information is available HERE.

Does this include all ebooks on Amazon?

No. You can only borrow books that are enrolled in the Kindle Unlimited program. You will see this logo next to the title.

If a book is not enrolled in Kindle Unlimited but is for sale on Amazon, you can purchase that ebook.
If you are a Kindle reader, but not enrolled in Kindle Unlimited, you can still purchase the books on Amazon.

Why can’t I buy those books on Kobo, Apple Books, Nook or Google Play?

Because Amazon requires books in Kindle Unlimited to be exclusive to Kindle, the ebooks for those books enrolled in Kindle Unlimited are only available on Amazon. If you have previously purchased ebooks from Kobo, Apple Books, Barnes & Noble, or Google Play, those books are not affected. You bought them and can still read them any time you want.

Why can’t I buy books in the Kindle app?

To remain in compliance with new Google Play and Apple store policies, customers must buy their books on a web browser and then they can access the books through their app’s digital library.

Why are you moving into KU?

We're living in a subscription based world. Music, television, and film have already moved to subscription models. More and more readers are wanting that for books as well, especially since so many of you (us) like to binge read. Because KU is budget friendly, it gives readers the chance to binge my lengthy series without the guilt of spending so much on a habit that makes them happy.

What about new releases?

At this time, I haven't quite decided about the future. It's possible that I will release my next series into KU right away. If so, it will be available on all vendors for a limited time. Meaning, I will have a preorder for all vendors and then a few days after release, I will pull the book and enroll it in Kindle Unlimited.

What if I've already purchased your books on another vendor? Will those go away when you leave them?
Nope! If you bought it or downloaded it for free outside of Kindle Unlimited, the book is yours to keep!
